Does IMVSO issue certificates?

IMVSO may issue verification statements or verification results based on its standards. These are not certification certificates and should not be interpreted as formal certification or accreditation.

What is the difference between a standard and certification?

A standard defines requirements, principles, or criteria. Certification is a formal conformity assessment process conducted by a certifying body to attest compliance with a standard.

IMVSO focuses on defining the standard and applying it for informational verification purposes. Certification, where applicable, may be performed by independent third parties using IMVSO standards.

Is IMVSO a marketplace?

No. IMVSO does not operate a marketplace, trading platform, or brokerage service. IMVSO does not participate in commercial transactions between buyers and sellers.

Does IMVSO guarantee quality or performance?

No. IMVSO verification does not guarantee product quality, production capacity, regulatory compliance, delivery performance, or business outcomes.

Verification relates solely to manufacturer identity and status at the time of assessment.

What does IMVSO verify?

IMVSO verification focuses on whether an entity meets defined criteria to be considered a manufacturer, as distinct from a trader, intermediary, or non-manufacturing entity.

Can third parties use IMVSO standards?
